Mr. Eyer came to the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation with extensive professional history in non-profits, museums, and education. He earned a management degree from Harvard University, and is both a Certified Association Executive and a Certified Fund-Raising Executive. He has been a commissioner on the city’s Historic Alexandria Resources Commission since 2017, and is currently the group’s Chair.

Mr. Eyer is an active educator in both humanities and business. He serves as a teaching assistant for management courses at Harvard University and Hult International Business School, and has been a member of the Advisory Board of Shenandoah University’s Transformational Leadership executive program.

As the Managing Director of Communications and Education at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, he has broad experience in strategic communications, capital campaigns, and volunteer coordination.

Mr. Eyer’s professional memberships include the American Society of Association Executives, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (member, Finance Committee, AFP D.C. Chapter).

In addition to his work for the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation, he is a member of the board of directors for the George Washington Legacy Foundation.
