Research Library

The Lee-Fendall House provides research facilities to guests and scholars.

The Research Library is open by appointment to researchers during the museum’s hours of operation. The library collection includes books and other material pertaining to the Lee-Fendall House, the Lee family, John L. Lewis, decorative arts, and architecture. These materials may not be checked out and may not leave the library.

The library’s archival collection consists primarily of material related to the Lee family, Philip Fendall Jr., the Downham family, and John L. Lewis.

Photocopies (black/white only) may be requested at a cost of $0.25 a page.  Lee-Fendall House staff must perform all photocopying.

Research Services

The Lee-Fendall House can perform limited research services in the resource library or on items in the collection by request. Research service fees are $25 per hour. Photocopies (black/white only) may be requested at a cost of $0.25 a page. Mailed items will be assessed according to United States Postal Service mailing rates and packaging fees.

Collections Research

Objects in the museum’s collection may be studied or researched by appointment during the museum’s hours of operation. Photographs may be requested for use in publications by filling out a Permission for Publication form. Please see our Image Licensing Policy and Fees for more details.
