Intern at the Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden!
Collections Management Intern
The Collections Management Intern at the Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden will assist with various projects related to collections management and research. Tasks include researching, caring for, and photographing historic objects and updating collection catalog records. The intern's main project will focus on the inventory of all textiles within the permanent collection.
Schedule:
- February-May (dates are flexible)
- 12 hours a week (equivalent to two full days in the museum)
Interpretation Intern
The Interpretation Intern will support the museum’s efforts to strengthen and expand its interpretive materials and public engagement. Working closely with museum staff, the intern will review and edit existing permanent exhibit labels to ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility. The intern will also assist in delivering public programs and guided tours, gaining hands-on experience in visitor engagement and educational interpretation.
Schedule:
- February-May (dates are flexible)
- 12 hours a week (equivalent to two full days in the museum)
These internship opportunities are ideal for anyone who is interested in a career in the museum field and is seeking experience in collections management. A background in museum studies/collections management is welcomed, but not a requirement.
These are unpaid internships, but college credit can be arranged.
