Downham Family Magnet

Robert Downham, a prominent Alexandrian and local liquor dealer, purchased the Lee-Fendall House in 1903. While only he and his wife resided in this house, Robert's family frequently visited. The museum has a collection of photographs of the Downhams in the garden that were taken in July of 1905. The photograph on this magnet features (bottom row L-R) Robert Downham (owner of the Lee-Fendall House from 1903 to 1939), E.E. Downham (father of Robert); (top row L-R) Mai Greenwell (wife of Robert Downham), Maude Downham (younger sister of Robert), and Lottie Greenwell (Mai's sister).
