Saturday, October 19, 2013, 6-9 p.m. “Spirits, Suffering, and Society”

“Spirits, Suffering, and Society: Death in Civil War Alexandria” Living History Program.

Experience the impact the Civil War had on Alexandria and American society through vignettes in this special program. Learn about medical practices, mourning traditions, and the rise in popularity of Spiritualism, which helped many families experience closure after the death of their loved ones.

Saturday, October 19, from 6-9 p.m.

Special musical guest, Evergreen Shade, will be performing period music throughout the evening!
