Thaumatropes

An early 19th-century toy, this Thaumatropes set includes two original thaumatropes, two blank discs so that you can create your own thaumatropes, plus strings. Two thaumatropes have historically based, original paintings by Wm. Zimmerman, one of America's leading bird painters. His thaumatropic renditions feature the famous "Bird and Cage" as well as the traditional "Bird and Dog." Two blank discs are included in the package for creating your own "wonder turners!"
